1953 MG TD
The MG TD was produced from 1949 to August of 1953. During that period there were many subtle changes, but nothing drastic. The first MG TDs were manufactured in late 1949, and the model was formally announced in January of 1950. Only 98 TDs were made in 1949, 2 RHD and 96 LHD. There were a total of four model years - 1950, 1951, 1952, and 1953, and the models are nowadays referred to as the MG TD, TD2 and TD Mark II.
The particular MG TD we offer for sale here is one of those produced in its final year 1953, and saw its first owner in the USA. It left the factory in July making it one of the last TDs to be made as production finished in August of that year.

The car is finished in green, with green leather as originally manufactured. Originality means so much today, and it’s also a matching numbers car too, which also adds to its desirability.
This stunning MG underwent a full nut and bolt rebuild in 2007. The body was removed from the chassis, and also the woodwork was replaced. The engine and gearbox rebuilt, in fact everything has been done from top to bottom. New Leather upholstery, new weather equipment. It also comes with a full tonneau cover too. The milometer at that time was reset to zero, and today its showing 5599 miles which we believe to be correct.
This car drives absolutely superbly. Being responsive, and agile, and remarkably positive on the road.

Yes, its LHD, but does that really matter for a car like this. It all adds to the fun of driving. This truly is one stunning little MG TD.
